FAQ
Is this suitable for UK invoices and VAT?
Yes for typical sole-trader / freelancer invoices: sequential numbers, your business details, optional VAT number and %, due date, and a payment-details block (bank transfer etc.). BillHours is not accounting software or tax advice — you remain responsible for VAT registration, Self Assessment, and HMRC records. See Terms.
What’s included on the free plan?
1 client and 5 invoices, with PDF, print-ready HTML, and CSV export. Enough to try the full flow before upgrading.
How do payments work?
Upgrades are billed through Stripe Managed Payments (Merchant of Record). Stripe handles VAT/sales tax on your BillHours subscription. Collecting payment from your clients on invoices is out of scope — put your bank details in Settings and send the PDF as usual.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Monthly and annual subscriptions can be cancelled via the Stripe receipt / customer emails. You keep your data; free-tier limits (1 client, 5 invoices) re-apply after the paid period ends.
What data do you store?
Account details, clients, time entries, and invoices you create. We don’t sell your data. Read the Privacy Policy and Terms.
